Magazine Advert Reflection

Here is my final Magazine Advert design, and with the feedback I got from classmates and teachers I believe it really helped me to create my overal image. In terms of the process of making my advert, I managed to change my mind so much that in the end I felt that I was wasting time. I found structure to be the main source of my worry, as I didn't want everything to look disorganised or randomly placed. However on reflection I believe that the overall image appears appealing, and I'm very proud of the structure of everything (image, text.) As an image, I wanted to choose an picture of Alessia that exudes confidence and flamboyancy, so I came to the conclusion that my chosen image achieves that effectively. I also decided to keep the same red lipstick stain theme which is used a lot throughout my digipak, as I believe it creates a correlation and brand identity. My favourite technique I was taught was the use of an outer glow, which I used around my artist as well as my text - I think that it really complimented my background and contributed to the soft, feminine vibe that I wanted my advert to give off. I found that it also brings the pink and yellow colours out more, which would help attract attention. I added items which I believe would make my advert appear more professional, such as my chosen record label (XL Recordings), an iTunes logo, as well as a logo from MTV, which provides a quote.
